Minutes Annual Conference Meeting
PROCEEDINGS
The 117th Annual Advent Christian Conference of Eastern North Carolina began with Pastor Rick Crocker leading in congregational singing. The meeting was called to order and prayer offered by President Dale Hobbs at 9:00a.m. on February 25, 2012 at Camp Dixie.
Roll call of churches revealed 26 churches represented.
Tellers were Head Teller - Ricky Byrd, Erma Pender, Dr. John Roller and Frank
Blackmon. Gayle Blackmon was appointed Parliamentarian for the conference session.
Credentials Committee reported 19 Ordained Ministers, 3 Licensed Ministers, 4
Commissioned Ministers, 6 Executive Board members (3 who are pastors) and 61
delegates, making a total voting strength of 93. Moved and seconded that delegates be seated with voting rights. Carried.
Moved and seconded to dispense with reading of Executive Board Minutes in view of the fact that printed copies had been mailed to each church. Carried.
Moved and seconded to adopt Minutes of the 116th Annual Advent Christian Conference
Eastern North Carolina as the official minutes. Carried.
Treasurer's and Finances Examination Committee Reports were included in the booklet provided to each delegate. Moved and seconded to receive reports as printed. Carried.
Budget Committee Report was included in the delegate's booklet. Moved and seconded to adopt Proposed Budget and Reconciliation for The Advent Christian Conference of Eastern North Carolina as printed. Carried.
Rev. Adrian Dixon introduced the conference theme Adventurously Expectant with a power point presentation on "Vision -With God All Things Are Possible''.
Rev. Thomas McMahon, along with video, shared "Why We Need Vision" and offered prayer for vision of one accord.
Pastor Rick Crocker led the congregation in singing"Be Thou My Vision".
Executive Board members were requested to be seated behind the podium and report on behalf of each committee and/or position. Moved, seconded and carried to receive the following reports: Coastal Liaison - Pastor Rick Crocker; President - Dale Hobbs; Ministerial Committee- Rev. Calvin Leavitt; W.H.F.M.S.- Sandra Blackmon; Home Missions - Rev. Thomas McMahon; Student Ministries - Lana Jernigan; Camp Dixie - Jeff Allen.
Credentials Committee reported 21 Ordained Ministers, 3 Licensed Ministers, 3
Commissioned Ministers, 9 Executive Board members (4 who are pastors), 69 delegates and 6 visitors, making a total voting strength of 101. Moved and seconded that delegates be seated with voting rights and visitors be given privilege of floor without voting rights. Carried.
Rev. Paul Dean, Rev. Robert Fabian, Rev. Mark Merrill and Elizabeth Liles presented update reports on Embassy Community Church, stressing "where there is no vision, people perish".
Lana Jernigan, along with video "The Human Eye" challenged about "The Risk of Just
Doing (maintenance vs. missional).
Pastor Rick Crocker again led the congregation in a song of repentance Be Thou My
Vision".
Rev. Joe Pritchett presented a report on behalf of The Southern Advent Christian Association, sharing scripture from Philippians, Chapter 1, verses 3 - 6. Moved and seconded to receive report. Carried.
Rev. Richard Russell, General Conference Director of Operations, presented a report on behalf of General Conference.
The Conference Session recessed and Camp Dixie, Inc. Annual Session was called to order by Chairman Jeffrey Allen. The Camp Dixie Report was presented by Jeffrey Allen, Rev. Ronnie LaFevers and Scott Smith. Moved and seconded that Camp Dixie Report, along with Treasurer's and Auditor's Reports be received. Carried.
Camp Dixie Annual Business Session adjourned and the Annual Conference Session was reconvened.
Nominating Committee Report by Ricky Tart. Moved and seconded to receive report. Carried.
The floor was open for nominations. Following power-point recognition of nominees, moved, seconded and carried to accept the ballot as official, and proceed to vote. Further, moved and seconded to allow tellers to leave floor and count ballots. Carried.
Betty Hobbs shared scripture and presented the Obituary Report, along with a slide presentation of deceased members. Rev. Doug Abel offered prayer. Moved and seconded to receive report. Carried.
Rev. Adrian Dixon concluded the conference theme with "The Risk in Asking - What Are We Being Called To Do?" Rev. Dixon also reported the results of the conference survey.
Pastor Rick Crocker led the congregation in the Song of Hope, "Be Thou My Vision"
and "Victory in Jesus".
Sandra Blackmon briefed on upcoming WorldWeek of Prayer.

Mike Tart; Coastal District Liaison - Rick Crocker; Secretary - Carol Parker; Assistant Secretary - Catherine Baker; Treasurer- Norman Dunn; Assistant Treasurer- Toni Faith Hall; Nominating Committee- Sandra Moore and Rev. Ronnie LaFevers; Home Missions Committee- Rev. Bob Langston and Dr. Larry Withrow; Ministerial Committee- Rev. Bob Langston and Rev. Calvin Leavitt; Camp Dixie Committee- Jeff Allen, Michael Houston, Emmett Martin, Katie McMahon and GeorgeMorgan.
Installation of officers by Rev. Paul Dean.
Corporate prayer was offered by Rev. Paul Deal as each church name and pastor was verbally recognized. Also, prayer was offered on behalf of our local Conference, Camp Dixie, S.A.C.A. and General Conference.
Meeting adjourned and closing prayer and blessings upon our food by Rev. Paul Dean.
